The North West of England carries 19.5% of the entire UK asylum caseload. More than London. More than the South East. More than any other region.

Liverpool: 2,189. Rate 43.0 per 10,000. Manchester: 1,846. Rate 31.3. Rochdale: 1,359. Rate 60.6. Bolton: 1,281. Rate 43.2. Oldham: 1,111. Rate 46.4.

Lancashire is no different. Blackburn: 649. Preston: 554. Burnley: 461.

The prime provider for the North West is Serco. One company controls all asylum accommodation placement across the entire region. No competition. No alternative. The Home Office contract decides where people go. Councils get £1,200 per person per year and a letter saying it is happening.

This is the region that voted most heavily for Brexit. The region where Reform UK polls highest outside London. The region where demographic change is fastest in towns like Burnley, Pendle, and Blackburn.

The dispersal system puts the greatest load on the communities least able to absorb it.
