Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 April 2026
asylumstats.co.uk is a personal research project run by Tom Pickup. This policy explains what happens to your data when you visit this site.
The short version
This site does not use cookies. It does not use analytics. It does not collect your email address. It does not require you to create an account. I do not know who you are when you visit.
What data is processed
When you visit any page, your browser automatically sends technical information to the servers that host this site. This includes:
- Your IP address
- The page you requested
- Your browser type and operating system
- The page that referred you here (if any)
- The date and time of your visit
This data is processed by GitHub Pages and Cloudflare, which host and serve this website. They process this data to deliver the page to your browser, protect against attacks, and maintain service performance. I do not have access to individual server logs or IP addresses.

Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. It uses no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and no advertising technology. There are no third-party scripts loaded. There is no cookie banner because there are no cookies to consent to.
This site does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, or any other browser storage technology.
Fonts
All fonts are self-hosted on asylumstats.co.uk via Fontsource. No external font services (such as Google Fonts) are contacted when you visit this site.
Embedded content
Some pages embed video content from YouTube (using the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain). YouTube may set its own cookies and collect data when you choose to play embedded content. Each embed is clearly marked. I have no control over YouTube's data processing.
Lawful basis
The limited data processing described above (serving web pages via hosting infrastructure) is carried out under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f) - legitimate interests. The legitimate interest is operating a publicly accessible website. Given the minimal data involved and the complete absence of tracking, this processing does not override your rights and freedoms.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to any personal data held about you
- Request correction or deletion of that data
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
In practice, I hold no personal data about visitors. If you contact me with a request, I will confirm this within one calendar month.
